We serve a diverse range of industries and companies because plastic resins are used in virtually every culture around the world. Our extensive experience of the products and the manufacturers allows us to quickly and efficiently meet the demand of the distributor or end-user of the polymer products.

We focus on producers that maintain high levels of quality and consistency because we know the end user desires a high quality product also.

Products are supplied to match various applications and come in different grades and melt flows.
Materials supplied include those for commodity, engineering and industrial applications. Injection Moulding, Blow Moulding and Extrusion Grades are available.

Material types

Polymers specialises in providing materials which fall into the below categories:

Prime - Manufactured and meets producers’ own specification
Offspec - Manufactured by producers which does not quite meet the exacting specification – i.e. Slight variation in melt flow
Reprocessed - Product manufactured based on first or second generation regrind and/or scrap feed stock. Subject to availability.

POLYPROPYLENE

Polypropylene is one of the most important thermoplastic raw materials which is used in plastic industry. It has many uses including production of plastic films, textile and plastic components for cars.

The polypropylene is one of the best plastic materials in terms of multi-purpose applications and cost advantage, and the demand for it is increasing and it is taking the place of other plastic products; thanks to its unique properties, low cost and competitiveness compared to other plastic materials.

The main markets of this material are West Europe, North America, North-East Asia, Africa , the latter will have the highest demand for this material by the year 2025.

HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE

HD Polyethylene has a density of more than 0,941g/cm3. It is characterized with its resistance to some chemicals, and used for production of cables, packing material, production of milk containers , detergent bottles, food products containers, waste baskets, pipes, and water hoses.

LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE

LD Polyethylene is produced with a density ranging from 0.910 and 0.940g/cm3. It is characterized with its low tensile strength and high ductility which makes it ideal for production of plastic bags and wrapping films.
The Middle East witnessed a considerable increase in the production capacity. The Middle East region is the major exporter of the low density polyethylene.

Plastic conversion techniques

Injection

The material, in the form of granulates, is softened under the effect of heat and injected under high pressure into a two-piece mould. These moulds allow objects of different sizes and shapes as well as very complex and high-precision technical parts to be made.

Profile Extrusion

The material, in the form of granulates, is melted before being extruded through a die which gives the material its permanent shape. This technique is used to make pipes, profiles, etc.

Film Extrusion

The material, in the form of granulates, is melted, extruded and blown into a bubble. This bubble is flattened out into a double layer of film, which is then rolled onto a cylinder. The extruded film is then mainly used for shopping bags and packaging of finished goods.

Injection and Blow moulding

The material, in the form of granulates, is melted before being extruded through a die which gives the material its permanent shape. This technique is used to make pipes, profiles, etc.

Compression

This technique consists of transforming materials by compressing them under high pressure in a mould. The particularity of most of these (thermosetting) materials is that they do not melt again once they have been moulded (car and electrical parts, etc.).

Rotomoulding

A thermoplastic material in the form of a powder melts under the effect of heat and spreads evenly over the internal walls of a mould that spins on two axes inside an oven (balls, water tanks, etc.).

Thermoforming

Thermoplastic sheets and plates are heated and shaped using a drawing and suction-based technique (food packaging, housing of machines and large vehicle body parts, sanitary ware).
